Etihad Stadium striker on his way to White Hart Lane.
We are delighted to announce that we have completed the transfer of Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City.
The Togo striker impressed during his loan at White Hart Lane last season, finishing as our top goalscorer with 18 goals in 37 appearances, maintaining his fine scoring record in England which now stands at 99 goals from 224 games.
Voted African Player of the Year in 2008, Emmanuel originally moved to England with Arsenal in January, 2006 before joining Manchester City two-and-a-half years later and also enjoyed a spell on loan with Real Madrid in 2011.
Emmanuel said: “I am pleased to be signing for Spurs on a permanent basis after finally agreeing my departure with Manchester City.
“It may have taken longer than expected but I am delighted to be back at Tottenham Hotspur. I really enjoyed my time here last season and I am hoping we can achieve great things together again.”

The Daily Mail state that the fee paid for the 28 year old was just £6m which surely makes this signing one of the bargains of the summer.
Whilst it’s true that the White Hart Lane side will have to fork out around £150k a week to satisfy the Togo international is seems that such a salary is more than covered by the low signing fee, which for instance is around half of what Wolves expect to receive for Steven Fletcher.
The former Arsenal man showed Tottenham fans what he is capable of last term, not just as a deadly finisher but also as a creator. The Man City notched up 18 goals and 12 assists during his season long loan spell and it seemed it was only ever a matter of time before Adebayor returned on a permanent basis.
Andre Villas-Boas could well do with an striking injection as currently he has only one senior forward to call upon, Jermain Defoe, though youngster Harry Kane is apparently a player the Tottenham boss wants to ease into first team action this term.
