German outfit determined to keep winger.
The chief executive of Bayer Leverkusen has insisted that Chelsea target Andre Schurrle is not for sale.
The Blues had a £16m bid for the 21-year-old rejected earlier this month and are understood to be considering a fresh approach for the German international.
Schurrle has admitted he would welcome a move to the European Champions but is resigned to remaining with the Bundesliga outfit this summer.
With a move for Wigan forward Victor Moses stalling, Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo is understood to be preparing a second bid of closer to £20m for the youngster.
But Leverkusen’s Wolfgang Holzhauser has dismissed suggestions that a new bid could force the German club’s hands.
“Andre Schurrle is an important player of our club,” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“There is no asking price in this case as there is no alternative solution. We have already said everything about this.”
Schurrle has 17 caps for the national team and has been with Leverkusen just one season, after signing from Mainz 05 last August.
Chelsea have already signed attacking midfielders Eden Hazard, Oscar and Marko Marin this summer, as owner Roman Abramovic spends big in an attempt to propel the club back in contention for the league title.
