Winger surprised to see England star at training ground.
Stoke City winger Jermaine Pennant has taken to twitter to reveal the Potters have signed Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone on a season-long loan deal.
Huddlestone was left out of the squad for Spurs’ opening Premier League match – 1-0 defeat at Newcastle – on Saturday, leading to suggestions he was set to leave the north London club.
The 25-year-old spent the whole of last season on the sidelines with a ankle injury and, despite returning to fitness, was used sparingly by new head-coach Andre Villas-Boas in pre-season.
Stoke now appear to have moved quickly to land the midfield pass-master, who has been with Spurs since arriving from Derby in 2005.
In two separate tweets, Pennant revealed his surprise at seeing Huddlestone at training and then confirmed that the three-time England international was set to join to club, subject to completing a medical.
Spurs sold Sebastien Bassong to Norwich on Tuesday, while Michael Dawson is expected to complete a £9m move to QPR this week, as Villas-Boas looks to overhaul his Tottenham squad.
