Spurs bid for M’Vila; Newcastle also interested but no move from Arsenal.
Tottenham have bid £12.7m for Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila, according to the Lige 1 club.
The BBC reports that Rennes want an unconditional £15m, while Spurs’ bid is structured in installments.
The French club have replied to Spurs’ written offer by suggesting face-to-face discussions but are yet to hear back from the north Londoners.
Rennes also confirmed another unnamed Premier League club, believed to be Newcastle, have registered an interest in the 22-year-old.
Arsenal are not believed to interested in the France international, despite being strongly linked with him earlier in the summer.
M’Vila rejected the chance to join Eastern European outfits Zenit St Petersburg and Shakhtar Donetsk earlier in the month and is understood to be keen on a move to White Hart Lane.
Spurs head-coach Andre Villas-Boas had previously remarked that M’Vila lacked the creativity to replace Luka Modric, who joined Real Madrid on Monday.
The north Londoners’ bid therefore suggests that the Portuguese is not entirely control of transfers, with chairman Daniel Levy thought to be identifying some targets.
