Forrward thrilled with Milan deal.
Everton have missed out on Caen forward M’Baye Niang who is set to join Serie A giants AC Milan.
The 17-year-old spent a week on trail at Goodison Park and the Toffees looked set to beat off competition to land the promising youngster.
Niang has spent time on trail at Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City this summer, as he looks to secure the perfect move away from the Ligue 2 minnows.
The France under-21 international was shown around Milan’s training facilities in July but a move to the Premier League still appeared the most likely outcome.
But Niang is expected to move to the San Siro in the next 24 hours and says he is delighted to be making the switch.
“I have made a big dream come true by joining Milan,” Niang told Tuttomercatoweb.
“Now it’s up to me to prove that I’m good enough to be in this great club.”
The promising youngster has been likened to former Arsenal star Thierry Henry, who also started his career on the wing but Niang insisted he is his own man.
“Am I the new Henry? I don’t like comparisons: Henry is Henry, and Niang is Niang,” he said.
Niang is a product of the Caen youth academy and made his official first team debut in April 2011.
