Dembele to have medical at Spurs on Wednesday.
Fulham midfielder Moussa Dembele is having a a medical at Tottenham after the two clubs agreed a fee in the region of £15m for the Belgian.
Manchester United had also been tracking the 25-year-old but Fulham boss Martin Jol confirmed on Tuesday that the classy midfielder was set to join Spurs, reports the BBC.
Dembele, who joined the Cottagers for £5m from AZ Alkmaar in 2010, was pulled out of Fulham’s squad for their Capital One Cup defeat at Sheffiield United on Tuesday night, after the club learned that Spurs’ had matched his £15m release clause.
The north Londoners’ move comes just days after the club agreed to sell Luka Modric to Real Madrid for a fee in the region of £33m.
Spurs head-coach Andre Villas-Boas was hopeful of landing Portugal international Joao Moutinho as the Croatian’s replacement but the club have been deterred by Porto’s £28m asking-price and have turned to Dembele instead.
He will be the second Belgian to arrive at White Hart Lane this summer, after Spurs landed his international teammate Jan Vertonghen in July.
Tottenham have also signed Emmanuel Adebayor and Gylfi Sigurdsson but the club is expected to be very busy in the final days of the transfer window, with moves for Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and Shakhtar Donetsk winger Willian also expected to be finalised.
