Upton Park return for unwanted Stamford Bridge veteran.
Yossi Benayon had revealed earlier on transfer deadline day that he had been the subject of two possible Premier League loan moves and the Israeli international has now seemingly opted to move to Upton Park to return to the East London club he represented for two years.
The Chelsea man was clearly not part of Roberto Di Matteo’s plans and a move to West Ham on a season long loan deal gives the 32 year old midfielder the chance to secure regular first team football.
Benayoun spent last season on loan at Arsenal, scoring eight goals in all competitions despite making only 15 starts, but returned to Stamford Bridge knowing there was little hope of forcing his way back into the first team picture.
Sam Allardyce may well have thought his side could do with some extra creative attacking guile and West Ham fans will certainly welcome back the former Liverpool man who made 71 appearances for the Hammers before he left for Anfield back in July 2007.
