Anfield midfielder on his way to the Britannia Stadium.
Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has arrived at Stoke City for a medical as they look to tie up a deal before the close of the transfer window.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is willing to let Adam move on having brought in Joe Allen and Nuri Sahin this summer to bolster his midfield options.
The 26-year-old only joined Liverpool last summer from Blackpool, but it is clear he does not figure in Rodgers’ long-term plans at Anfield.
The likes of Everton and Fulham have been linked with Adam, but it appears Stoke are in pole position to land the former Rangers man.
Stoke are keen to add to their squad before Friday’s deadline and they made a £4million bid for the Scotland international earlier this week.

Brendan Rodgers appears set to force out another of Liverpool squad having successfully sent Andy Carroll to West Ham the Anfield boss is now looking to offload Charlie Adam to any side willing to pay a decent fee for the Scottish international.
The former Blackpool man has publicly stated his intention to stay at the Merseyside club but Liverpool appear keen to sell the 26 year old. Rodgers has a mountain of central midfielders to call upon and Adam is yet to play a minute of Premier League football this term.
Stoke City are keen on Charlie Adam and the Liverpool man may well feel he has no choice other than to pursue a move rather than spend a season on the bench.
Liverpool spent £9m on Adam a year ago so one wonders if they would accept as little as £4m. The talented midfielder finished last term as the club’s leading assist maker.
