Terry back in full-training in time for World Cup Qualifiers
Chelsea defender John Terry is available for England’s World Cup Qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine after taking part in a full training session.
The Chelsea player had been out with a neck injury sustained in his side’s 4-2 victory over Reading on August 23rd, but England boss Roy Hodgson was confident that Terry would be able to prove his fitness in time for Friday evening’s game in Moldova and included the 31-year-old on his initial squad, according to Sky Sports.
Terry’s club teammate Ashley Cole will not recover from the ankle problem he sustained in Chelsea’s 4-1 loss to Athletico Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup in time for Friday’s Moldova game, but Hodgson is hopeful Cole will be available for next Tuesday’s fixture against the Ukraine at Wembley.
Meanwhile the England boss is unlikely to have West Ham new-boy Andy Carroll at his disposal for the two Qualifiers after the front man suffered a hamstring injury in his Hammers debut on Saturday. He joins fellow England striker Wayne Rooney on the sidelines.
Former England captain John Terry has been capped 77 times by England since making his debut in 2003.
