Premier League sides clamour for Lille wide-man.
Chelsea, Man City & Man United are reportedly all showing an interest in Lille teenager Lucas Digne according to French source L’Equipe (via Inside Futbol).
The Premier League trio are said to have been impressed by the left sided youngster’s performances for the Ligue 1 side over the past year and Rudi Garcia may have another fight on his hands to keep the starlet from leaving the Stade Metropole.
The French Under 19 international broke on to the scene last term, forcing his way into the Lille first team picture after being handed his debut last October and the adaptable wide-man hasn’t looked back since.
Digne is now pushing to make the left-back slot his own but is also able to play further up on the left hand side of midfield and Lille boss Garcia will hope that he won’t be the latest player to leave his side, having seen the likes of Yohan Cabaye, Moussa Sow, Gervinho and Eden Hazard leave since the club picked up their first domestic title in over 50 years in 2010/11.
Sir Alex Ferguson may see Digne as a possible long term replacement for Patrice Evra, though the Scot did bring in relatively unknown Dutchman Alexander Buttner this summer to keep the French international on his toes.
Chelsea appear to already have a long term replacement in mind for veteran Ashley Cole in the form of talented youngster Ryan Bertrand.
