Real to offer ‘sad’ star new deal.
Real Madrid are ready to ward off interest from Manchester United, Man City and Anzhi Makhachkala by offering Cristiano Ronaldo a bumper new deal.
Ronaldo’s future has come under intense scrutiny this week after the Portuguese superstar admitted that he was ‘sad’ about certain aspects of life at Real Madrid.
The forward has been linked with a move to back to Manchester United, while City and mega-rich Russian outfit Anzhi are also thought to be interested.
Real are now trying to do all they can to make Ronaldo feel important and the 27-year-old could be informed of a decision to commence a contract renewal process as early as Wednesday.
According to Spanish daily Marca, a publication with strong links to Real, the club’s president Florentino Perez is keen to find out exactly why the star player is unsettled.
It is understood that Perez is angry with the player and feels his comments have damaged Real’s image.
Ronaldo has denied that his unhappiness has anything to do with money and issued a fierce denial on twitter:
I am accused of wanting more money, but one day it will be shown that this is not the case. I just want to guarantee to the Real fans that my motivation, dedication, commitment and desire to win all competitions will not be affected.”
