The Swans will be without key men as Premier League action returns.
Swansea City’s fine start to the new season under new boss Michael Laudrup could be about to take a turn for the worst as injuries threaten to cost them dearly.
The Swans return to Premier League action against Aston Villa this Saturday, but they look set to be without defender Kyle Bartley for three months after the former Arsenal man, who signed from the Gunners during the summer, suffered a thigh injury in training, reports the BBC.
This will come as a major loss to the side after already seeing fellow-defender Neil Taylor fracture his ankle in the Swans last game out against Sunderland – an injury which will likely rule him out for the rest of the season, while new signing Chico Flores is unavailable for three matches after his red card in the Sunderland game.
Laudrup’s side have begun the season in impressive fashion, thumping QPR, the summer’s most active recruiters in the transfer market, 5-0 in the opening game and they followed up that result with another big win, 3-0, against West Ham before the 2-2 draw with Sunderland.
This form has seen them shoot into second place in the Premier league table just 2-points behind early leaders Chelsea and fans will be hoping that these big injury set-backs will not have too great of an effect on their club’s form as the season progresses and they will welcome back Flores when he returns from his suspension in several week’s time.
