Stamford Bridge target open to move.
Bayer Leverkusen striker Andre Schurrle has opened the door to his departure.
The exciting Germany international is a top target for Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who had one offer for the youngster turned down last month.
“I’m focused on this season. What happens next year is an open question,” declared Schurrle last night.
There are statements that can be misconstrued and statements that are blatant ‘come and get me’ pleas and this one from Bayer Leverkusen forward Andre Schurrle is certainly the latter.
The talented young German international was repeatedly linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge and Chelsea reportedly had two bids for the 21 year old turned down by the Bundesliga side and these comments from Schurrle may just encourage the West London side to make a third offer.
The former Mainz man did not have the best of debut seasons at Bayer Leverkusen last term but impressed whilst on international duty and is certainly a player that the Blues are eyeing up.
Roberto Di Matteo could well do with attacking alternatives as currently a lot of weight rests on the shoulders of Spaniard Fernando Torres who has started the season well but is still some way off justifying the £50m invested in his services.
