Loftus Road boss still wants White Hart Lane defender.
Mark Hughes hopes Michael Dawson can be persuaded to join QPR in January after being frozen out at Tottenham by Andre Villas-Boas.
Hughes said: ‘Maybe Michael’s situation had happened too quickly for him to understand what his future is at Spurs. He would have been a good buy but it wasn’t to be.
‘In January that might be different if he is still out of the team… but we may have moved on by then.’

QPR had reportedly agreed a £9m deal to sign Tottenham centre back Michael Dawson, only for personal terms to prevent a being completed. This led to the 28 year stating his intention to fight for his place in Andre Villas-Boas’s first team and Mark Hughes appears keen to re-ignite his interest in the England international in January.
Dawson is yet to play a single minute of football under the new White Hart Lane boss so it would appear that the former Nottingham Forest man is not part of the Portuguese boss’s plans and therefore the Tottenham centre back may opt to accept QPR’s offer after all.
Though Hughes saw his defence hold up manfully during their goalless draw with local rivals Chelsea, QPR have on the whole looked suspect at the back, conceding nine goals in their first three Premier League matches of the season.
