Reds’ fans see the funny side.
Liverpool may have made their worst start to a league season since 1911 – failing to win any of their first five games and losing to bitter rivals Manchester United at Anfield – but their fans have retained their sense of humour in the face of adversity, as this graffiti at the city’s John Lennon Airport illustrates.
The airport’s motto, ‘above us only sky’, taken from the Beatle’s most famous track, ‘Imagine’, has been added to, with a cheeky fan scribbling ‘below us only QPR and Reading’ underneath to reflect Liverpool’s league position of 18th!
