Old Trafford side keen on Turin playmaker.
Manchester United have sounded out Juventus over a possible move for midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to sources in Germany.
Vidal, 25, burst onto the European scene during a four-year stint at German club Bayer Leverkusen.
And after helping Leverkusen to a second-place Bundesliga finish in 2011, the Chilean earned a move to Juventus, where he played a big part as the Old Lady stormed to the Serie A title last term.
The energetic Chile international impressed during Juventus’ recent 2-2 Champions League draw at Chelsea, where he scored his side’s first goal.
Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with a fair few attack minded midfielders over the past few months and it’s clear that the Scot does indeed want to add more creativity, after all the Old Trafford boss made a big money bid for Brazilian youngster Lucas Moura, and now it appears that Juventus star Arturo Vidal is in his sights.
Vidal has made a big impact since his move to Turin from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2011, indeed Juventus have not lost a Serie A game since he arrived. The talented forward thinking Chilean international has continued where he left off last term and has put in some sterling displays thus far during the current campaign.
Ferguson may well feel the need to freshen up a midfield that still depends a great deal on the likes of Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick and even Ryan Giggs, who is playing in a far more central role at present, and may fancy his chances of luring Vidal to the Premier League.
However one wonders if Man United will be willing to meet the club’s £40m valuation, a fee that would smash the club transfer record spend.
