Loftus Road side chase Anfield flop.
QPR boss Mark Hughes is said to be preparing a January move for Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole. The 30 year old was the subject of interest from the West London side over the summer but a deal was not struck.
The Loftus Road boss is keen to add more creativity to his side after a poor start to the campaign and will look to tempt the former West Ham and Chelsea man with the promise of regular first team action, something the attacking midfielder has failed to secure at Anfield.
Cole is returning to full fitness after suffering a hamstring injury just nine minutes after coming on as a sub against West Brom in the opening match of the season.
Brendan Rodgers may well be ready to offload the experienced midfielder as he looks to put more faith in younger members of his Liverpool squad. Whilst any sale would be unlikely to garner a large sum it would at least see the player’s £90k salary taken off the club’s balance sheet.
Joe Cole could well be tempted by the chance to re-ignite a career that has started to get back on track after a successful season out on loan at Ligue 1 side Lille and the chance to return to London could also attract the former England international.
