Old Trafford side plan Turin raid.
German source 4-4-2.com claim that Man United are readying a €65m (£52m) bid for Juventus pair Arturo Vidal and Mirko Vucinic.
The duo have been instrumental in the Turin side’s successful run that has led Juventus to the Serie A title last term without Antonio Conte’s side suffering a single defeat and the current campaign has continued in much the same vein with the Old Lady of Italian football winning five out of their opening six matches.
Of the pair one would see why Ferguson would be keen on Chilean Arturo Vidal as Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with a fair few attack minded midfielders over the past few months and it’s clear that the Scot does indeed want to add more creativity, after all the Old Trafford boss made a big money bid for Brazilian youngster Lucas Moura, and now it appears that Juventus star Arturo Vidal is in his sights.
Vidal has made a big impact since his move to Turin from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2011, indeed Juventus have not lost a Serie A game since he arrived. The talented forward thinking Chilean international has continued where he left off last term and has put in some sterling displays thus far during the current campaign.
Ferguson may well feel the need to freshen up a midfield that still depends a great deal on the likes of Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick and even Ryan Giggs, who is playing in a far more central role at present, and may fancy his chances of luring Vidal to the Premier League.
Interest in 29 year old Montenegro striker Mirko Vucinic is perhaps harder to fathom given that the Man United boss now has four top notch international strikers to call upon; Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and Robin Van Persie, a move for another forward would be plausible but not one who is pushing 30 years of age.
That said, the wiry marksman would probably suit a move to the Premier League.
However one would wonder why either player would be keen to leave a Juventus side who are brushing past all opposition, especially now that boss Antonio Conte has seen his ten month ban in relation to match fixing reduced to just four, leaving him free to return in December.
