Stamford Bridge side linked with interest in top notch additions.
The European champions retain an interest in Arsenal contract rebel Theo Walcott, who is entering the final six months of his deal after rejecting a £75,000-per-week extension in August.
The England winger wants to stay at the Emirates but feels he deserves a better package. Talks between the parties are continuing.
Long-term admirers Chelsea are being kept updated with Walcott’s situation. Walcott, who can sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January, is also interesting Liverpool and Manchester City.

Though there has been speculation that Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott was ready to sign a new deal as yet this has not come to fruition so as such there will be continuing debate about the England international’s future. The 23 year old has been frozen out of Arsene Wenger’s starting eleven but has shown his desire to prove himself worthy with a succession of strong cameo roles coming from the bench.
Chelsea would appear to have a wealth of wide options given that the likes of Eden Hazard, Marko Marin and Victor Moses arrived over the summer so perhaps any interest in the Gunners star could be with a view to playing the speedy forward in an orthodox striking role, one that he may well feel he can make more of an impact.
Wenger and Arsenal may feel they can afford to stick by their guns in relation to Walcott’s wage demands due to the fact that they have fared pretty well without his involvement. Ivorian Gervinho has become a far more consistent performer and youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could well be a long term replacement for the former Southampton man.
