Old Trafford side ready to express interest in much sought after youngster.
Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to plot a bid for Spanish youngster Isco after receiving a number of glowing scouting reports since the start of the La Liga season.
The Scot is readying a move in the region of €20m (£16.1m), said to be the valuation placed on the Spanish Under 21 international by the cash strapped Malaga side keen to balance the club’s books. The La Rosaleda side’s Qatari owners have been saddled with masses of debt following their push to secure a Champions League spot and had to cash-in on star performers Salomon Rondon and Santi Cazorla over the summer.
However the purge doesn’t appear to be at an end and as such Manuel Pellegrini may well see another of his top talents sold to makes ends meet.
Malaga did successfully secure a Champions League berth and the performances Isco has put in during their maiden participation in the showpiece trophy have greatly impressed Ferguson. The 20 year old helped his side past Panathinaikos to help his side qualify for the group stages where the La Liga side have collected two victories from two matches with thumping 3-0 wins over Zenit and Anderlecht.
Isco’s form has also helped Malaga to a solid start to the league season and now a number of Europe’s ‘Elite’ are pursuing the talented midfielder.
Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to bring some added creativity to his midfield and is looking to continue his youthful transfer policy and Isco fits the bill on both counts.
With Paul Scholes nearing the end of his career and Micheal Carrick being used in a less attacking role Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with moves for a number of possible playmaker targets which included a failed attempt to land Lucas Moura, who subsequently joined PSG, and constant speculation about a possible bid for Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder.
