Anfield side on the trail of talented teenage midfielder.
The agent of Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozovic claims his client is interesting Premier League heavyweights Liverpool and a number of clubs in Italy.
Liverpool are in the market for creative, forward-thinking talent and Brozovic is a player under consideration by Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers.
“Many Italian clubs are looking at him – like Bologna, Parma and Genoa,” Brozovic’s representative, Miroslav Bicanic, told tuttomercatoweb.com.
“They are not the only ones. Liverpool scouts have also been following him for a long time now and I know they have spoken with the Croatian club.
“It’s too early to talk about prices, but I have heard he could be worth €3.5million (£2.8m).
“He is a player with a great engine, but also two good feet. He plays a bit like (Andrea) Pirlo.”

£2.8m for a player ‘a bit like Andrea Pirlo’ seems like a good deal, is it one that Brendan Rodgers is ready to launch? Well clearly an agent is always going to ‘talk-up’ his clients talents but it does seem there is a growing number of European sides keen on the Croatian Under 21 international.
You’ve also got to admire Mr Bicanic’s unsubtle attempts to speed up any bid for the Dinamo Zagreb by quoting within one breath that it’s ‘too early to talk about prices’ and then following up with ‘he could be worth £2.8m’. Classic agent behaviour.
Rodgers is clearly looking to plan for the future and his moderately sized squad has helped in this aim with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Suso and Andre Wisdom being thrown in at the deep end and swimming in the Premier League pool with relative ease.
Brozovic only moved to Dinamo Zagreb from NK Lokomotiva in the summer and signed a seven year deal in the process, therefore one wonders if a bid of £2.8m would really suffice.
The talented young midfielder has helped his Croatian side begin the season with a bang, helping Dinamo Zagreb open up a seven point lead at the top of the table after just 11 matches as well as starting both of the club’s Champions League group stage encounters this term.
