Emirates Stadium side line up January offer for long term target.
Arsenal are ready to re-ignite their interest in Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila in January and will offer Moroccan international striker Marouane Chamakh as part of the deal to land the French international.
Arsene Wenger has been linked with interest in 22 year old enforcer for some time and was close to signing the midfielder over the summer and is ready to make a concrete offer for M’Vila as his position at Rennes grows ever more tenuous.
Yann M’Vila and defender Chris Mavinga have been dropped from Ligue 1 side first team action after spending a night out between two key under-21 European championship qualifiers, leading to speculation that the Ligue 1 side will look to finally cash-in on their prized asset.
Wenger is looking to add more steel to his Arsenal midfield, having thus far depended on Spaniard Mikel Arteta playing a far deeper role than the Everton man is used to and though the Gunners man has performed well the Emirates Stadium boss is keen to bring in a specialist to fill the role.
The Arsenal board are ready to open the purse strings in the January transfer window and Wenger will offer around £10m and Chamakh in bid that Wenger will hope tempts Rennes into a sale.
Though 28 year old forward Chamakh has struggled during his time at Arsenal, his record in Ligue 1 was such that Rennes could be enticed by the offer of his services as part of any deal to sell M’Vila.
