Emirates Stadium players who the North London can certainly afford to offload.
10.Bacary Sagna
The French international gave a fairly honest assessment of the club’s decision to sell Alex Song to Barcelona in the summer, in short, he wasn’t happy. Now that is clearly fair enough but it also appears that efforts to tie down the right-back to a new contract are not going to plan.
Having suffered two broken legs last term Arsenal had to force youngster Carl Jenkinson in at the deep end and the former Charlton Athletic man has taken the plunge with great vigour. Indeed if Sagna was to return from the sidelines right now then he would struggle to unseat the 20 year old defender.
There has been talk of a great deal of interest in the 29 year old former Auxerre man with Inter Milan apparently very keen on the experienced full-back. If a decent offer were to be made either in January or next summer then Wenger should think long and hard about cashing in on Sagna.
We are talking about a player nearing 30 who doesn’t appear to be all that happy with life at Arsenal, so if a contract can not be agreed by the time the transfer window re-opens then perhaps a decent offer would be considered by the North London club.
