Emirates Stadium side step up chase for World Cup winner.
Arsenal and Tottenham could be set to cash in on stories of money troubles at Sevilla – with January moves for Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo.
It has been reported that the Spanish club need to sell their star players in January to raise vital funds.
That could allow north London rivals Arsenal and Spurs to rekindle their interest in two of Sevilla’s brightest talents.
The Gunners were constantly linked with a move for £20m-rated ace Navas while Spurs reportedly failed in a deadline-day move for striker Negredo.
But with the La Liga side’s apparent need to sell, the Premier League pair may be able to negotiate the a cut-price deal in January, according to Radio Sevilla.
Arsenal’s need for wide attackers could of course increase if the North London club stick to their guns with regards to Theo Walcott’s contractual demands and a move for the 26 year old Spanish international would certainly effectively replace the loss of the 23 year old England man.
The experienced Sevilla wide-man has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the past but has steadfastly stuck with the side he has represented since the age of 15 and has racked up 350 appearances for the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán side but the Andalusian side may be forced to sell their prized asset to help balance the books.
Though the Gunners boss has a number of wide options, including Gervinho and Lukas Podolski, other youthful alternatives are perhaps not ready for regular first team activity, players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ryo Miyaichi who are undoubted talents, may lead Wenger to consider a move for Navas.
Arsenal could well do with extra creativity to help boost their ailing firepower, which has led to the club failing to break down the likes of Stoke City, Sunderland and Norwich City thus far this term.
