Anfield side target Anderlecht teenager.
Liverpool are monitoring young Anderlecht midfielder Dennis Praet.
The 18-year-old, who is the latest to roll off the prolific Belgian conveyor belt, broke into Anderlecht’s first-team last season, making seven appearances from the bench.
He has made five starting appearances this term – and notched his first senior goal against Ekranas in a Champions League qualifier.
As a result, several European clubs are thought to be tracking his services, but Liverpool are leading the chase and could secure his signature for a fee of £4m.
Anfield scouts were apparently present at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium on Friday night as the Brussels side overcame Waasland-Beveren and would have been impressed by the contribution from the 18 year old attacker who put in a great display to help Anderlecht to a comfortable win that keeps the club level pegging with Club Brugge at the top of the table.
Praet is a speedy attacker who has an eye for goal and may well be just the type of player Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his squad for the future.
The Liverpool boss has a remit to bring in youthful additions that can help build the nucleus of Merseyside squad that can succeed in the long term and to that end Rodgers brought in the likes of Joe Allen, Oussama Assaidi, Samed Yesil and Fabio Borini over the summer.
Praet has shown great potential and maturity in his early showings for Anderlecht and already has Champions League football under his belt and is drawing comparisons to Chelsea youngster Eden Hazard.
