Anfield and White Hart Lane side linked with hopeful interest in German international.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be looking at signing £20m rated Bayern Munich forward Thomas Müller after the Germany international admitted he could leave the Allianz Arena.
“It’s still a fact that I would not ignore offers from other teams,” said Müller in an interview with Der Spiegel.
“My career is my priority.
“I am very much aware of my status – both in Germany and abroad.”
Since winning the Best Young Player prize at 2010 World Cup with five goals in six appearances, Müller has gone on to even greater things.
Usually played on the right of a front three, but capable in any number of roles across the attacking line, Müller has seven goals and five assists in ten appearances for Bayern Munich this season in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League
Thomas Muller’s recent comments have been taken and dissected all over the shop and could in fact be an attempt by the highly rated youngster to cement a new improved Bayern Munich contract, a chance for the German international to make his Bavarian employers worry about his intentions.
After all there seems little reason the 23 year old could consider leaving Bayern Munich any time soon. The Allianz Arena side have a 100% record in the Bundesliga this term and look good to end Borussia Dortmund’s reign as domestic title holders, they aren’t doing badly in the Champions League either.
Of the two sides mentioned by this source it would take a brave man to consider the possibility of a move to a struggling Liverpool side who seem a world away from achieving their goal of securing a Champions League berth, indeed a sign of the club’s fall from grace is their celebration of a narrow home win over Reading on the weekend.
Liverpool could certainly do with attacking reinforcements having been limited to just one senior striking option, Luis Suarez, after Fabio Borini broke his foot.
Tottenham are also perhaps in need of further options in the final third, Jermain Defoe has been a virtual ever present, showing good form that has kept new signing Emmanuel Adebayor out of the first team picture. Muller is a talented adaptable forward who has already shown what he is capable of and arguably still able to ‘up his game’.
The lanky forward has scored eight goals in 12 matches this term and is a regular in Joachim Low’s national team set-up.
