Old Trafford side given hope in San Siro playmaker chase.
The future of Manchester United target Kevin-Prince Boateng is again uncertain.
Tuttosport claims the attacking midfielder is upset with his club, AC Milan, for reneging on a promise last season to upgrade his contract.
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has told Boateng’s representatives to forget about an increase from €2.3 million-a-year to €4 million-a-year.
The Ghana international was linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid earlier this season, while Bayern Munich are also believed to be keen.

Perhaps Kevin Prince-Boateng is the man to fill the void as Sir Alex Ferguson continues to be linked with a myriad of midfielders who could add a creative spark to his Man United squad? The former Tottenham and Portsmouth man has enjoyed much of his time at the San Siro but the fact that owner Silvio Berlusconi is looking to cut costs at the Serie A club could well lead to potential offers for the Ghana international being considered.
A move to Bayern Munich seems out of the question given that the 25 year old’s brother Jerome is at the Allianz Arena club and by all accounts the two siblings do not get on at all well.
AC Milan sold Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic over the summer, a move that greatly upset the Rossoneri side’s fans so one would imagine that the sale of Boateng is not beyond the realms of possibility.
Man United may be willing to meet Boateng’s wage demands as Ferguson looks to strengthen his squad but a lot could depend on how much AC Milan would demand for the goal-scoring midfielder.
Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, and to a lesser extent, Michael Carrick are all in the latter stages of their glittering careers and whilst youngster Tom Cleverley is making big strides there are question marks over the effectiveness of Anderson and the form and fitness of Scottish international Darren Fletcher. Therefore it’s no surprise that Ferguson is considering the acquisition of another midfielder to boost the club’s strength in depth.
