Craven Cottage side want Villa Park marksman.
Darren Bent is set to be offered a route out of Aston Villa by Fulham in the transfer window.
The England striker was left on the bench for the 1-1 draw with Norwich at Villa Park.
Bent came on after 69 minutes yesterday, but has been left in limbo over his Villa future after boss Paul Lambert offered him no explanations for stripping him of the club captaincy or dropping him for recent games.
Fulham will now look to take advantage of the situation by launching a £12million bid for Bent in January.
It remains to be seen whether Villa would be prepared to take such a big hit on 28-year-old Bent (above) after signing him in a deal worth £24m from Sunderland.

Darren Bent may well be considering his options but a move to Fulham may not appeal to the Londoner, who may feel he can garner a move to a ‘bigger’ club if he were indeed to leave Villa Park.
The 28 year old England man was once again on the bench as Aston Villa took on Norwich City in a home fixture that must surely have been considered a must-win match, the fact that he was only called upon for the final 20 minutes coupled with Paul Lambert’s inability to collect three points may well create even more tension between the two parties.
Martin Jol was the man who brought Bent to White Hart Lane and is clearly an admirer of the former Tottenham forward and may well see Bent alongside Dimitar Berbatov as a mouth watering pairing but it’s a deal that seems unlikely to come to fruition.
Indeed Fulham don’t appear to have a great need for a striker signing given that the Craven Cottage side have scored a whopping 19 goals in nine matches thus far this season.
