Old Trafford side keen on Benfica attacker.
Man United are apparently ready to make a €20m (£16m) offer for FC Porto youngster James Rodriguez as Sir Alex Ferguson looks to offload Portuguese international Nani.
The 21 year old Colombian has been a big success since his move to Portugal in the summer of 2010, helping his side to back to back domestic titles and a Europa League crown in his two seasons at the Estadio Dragao side. A move to Man United will however surely tempt the youngster, who can play in an attacking central midfield role but is more commonly used on the flanks.
The Daily Star believe that Man United chief executive David Gill has informed Sir Alex Ferguson that he is unwilling to be held to ransom with regards to Nani’s wage demands and apparently the Scot is willing to offload the off-form wide-man.
Rodriguez is then seemingly seen as a like for like replacement for a player who may well have be seeing his up and down Man United career near it’s end.
