White Hart Lane side target Italian international.
Juventus have joined Spurs in the chase to sign highly rated Roma forward Pablo Daniel Osvaldo.
Osvaldo, who moved to Roma from Espanyol last year, scored 11 league goals and set up five more during his debut campaign in Italy.
He has started this season well too, scoring five times in six Serie A starts.
But there are suggestions he has had a rift with Stadio Olimpico chief Zdenek Zeman and champions Juventus, who failed to sign a top-class forward during the summer, are ready to offer him a route out of the Italian capital in January.
Spurs were credited with an interest in the £11m-rated Italy international during the summer, but it remains to be seen whether they will follow that up with an offer when the transfer window re-opens in two months’ time.
Tottenham may not have all that many striking options but those that Andre Villas-Boas does have don’t even get much of a look-in so there seems little reason why Andre Villas-Boas would target Roma forward Pablo Osvaldo.
Emmanuel Adebayor is still awaiting his first Premier League start this season as Jermain Defoe has gotten the nod thus far this season and the England man hasn’t looked back, scoring with regularity and proving a very tough customer for opposition defences.
Pablo Osvaldo may well be tempted by the possibility of a move to a Juventus side that hasn’t lost a Serie A match since May 2011.
The 26 year old has spent the last six years forging a career in Italy, bar a season at Espanyol, and his form over the past 18 months has earned him an Italian national team call-up, going on to net three goals in six international appearances.
