Madjeski Stadium side keen on Russian international.
Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin is one of a number of players being considered by Reading ahead of the winter transfer window.
The opening of the January window will allow them to dip back into the market and bring in players that could play a significant role in their efforts to preserve their top-flight status.
Owner Anton Zingarevich will be the man in charge of the purse strings, and he will be making money available.
Zingarevich told Spb.jp.ru: “Arshavin is interesting for Reading.
“But he is one of 10 players that we are interested in.”

One would imagine that if Reading made any sort of offer for the 31 year old winger then Arsene Wenger would gladly accept it. The former Zenit man’s time at Arsenal has been something of a damp squib and the experienced attacker has rarely shown anything like the Euro 2008 form that made him the toast of the town some years back.
Now Arshavin is rarely used at all by the North London side who have long since given up on his ability to make a telling contribution for a consistent period. Wenger opts instead to use a myriad of alternative wide options that include the likes of Lukas Podolski, Gervinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and on occasion Theo Walcott.
Andrei Arshavin is apparently very settled in England and a move to Reading may mean the Arsenal man wouldn’t have to move at all and as such could be the type of move he would be keen on, not least because it would hand him a chance to secure regular first team football.
Reading could well do with a player of his creative ability though Brian McDermott would hope that Arshavin would up his game in order to be a worthwhile signing.
Owner Anton Zingarevich may well feel the need to splash the cash in January to give his Royals side a shot at survival and Arshavin at somewhere near the form he is undoubtedly capable of could well be of great use in this regard.
Arshavin has made a total of 142 appearances for Arsenal and scored 31 goals in the process. However he has played just 46 minutes of Premier League football this term.
