To good an offer for the Stamford Bridge boss to turn down?
CHELSEA will have to offer Fernando Torres back to Atletico Madrid to clinch the signing of Radamel Falcao.
The Champions League winners are tracking £45million-rated Falcao.
But the Daily Star Sunday has been told that the Spanish club would prefer a deal which would see them re-sign Torres as a ready-made replacement.
Torres, 28, made his name at Atletico before moving to Liverpool, from where he made a sensational £50m switch to Chelsea.
Atletico have also been eyeing Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez as a potential replacement for Colombian hit-man Falcao.
But they are now talking about a reunion with Torres, who scored 75 goals in 174 league appearances for the club.

One would have to imagine that if Chelsea were greeted with the opportunity to land long target Radamel Falcao by using Fernando Torres as bait then the West London side wouldn’t think twice about accepting the offer, right?
Whilst the Spaniard has shown signs of an improvement in form Torres is still some way off the striker he was at Liverpool and certainly not worthy of the £50m outlay Chelsea made to bring the 28 year old to Stamford Bridge.
Atletico Madrid have a habit of selling their star performers, who tend to push for an exit when it becomes clear that their ambitions can not be met by the Vicente Calderon side, and though Radamel Falcao has stated his desire to stay at the club, a move to Chelsea may be one that Diego Simeone’s side consider if such a deal would come with a decent cash sum as part of any player exchange.
Falcao has been scoring with such regularity that Atletico would certainly deserve a sum of money as part of any potential swap deal. The 26 year old has netted 13 goals in nine matches this season and scored 36 in his first term at the club, putting to rest any doubts as to his ability to replicate his FC Porto form in a tougher league.
