Etihad Stadium side want Santos forward.
Roberto Mancini will ask for the green light to sign Brazilian sensation Neymar when he meets Manchester City’s new director of football this week, writes The Sunday People.
The Blues boss has placed the £50million Santos superstar at the top of his wish-list for next summer.
But Mancini has told pals that even if Neymar arrives at the Etihad, he might not be around to greet him.
Mancini has been urging City’s money-men to splash the cash since last season ended – and Neymar is his dream signing.

Whilst it is of course ludicrous that Roberto Mancini’s job is under threat it does appear there may be some credence to the speculation. The Italian was at pains to remind the media that as many eight sides were interested in acquiring his services over the summer and despite having signed a five year deal there is perhaps a faint whiff of a possible sacking around the corner.
Having appointed Txiki Begiristain as technical director there will of course be speculation that he could be reunited with his former Barcelona colleague Pep Guardiola and it is also thought that the Catalan side are most likely to be Neymar’s port of call when the 20 year old makes hi inevitable move to Europe.
One does wonder where Neymar would fit in with the four current international strikers vying for a spot in Man City’s first team plans and it may well mean that the likes of Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli are offloaded as Argentine pair Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez get the lion’s share of the action.
Neymar has been scoring goals for fun with Santos over the past four seasons, netting 118 goals in 198 appearances whilst notching up 16 goals in 25 matches for the Brazilian national team.
