Stamford Bridge side target Marseille forward.
Italian source TuttoMercato claim that Chelsea are lining up a January move for Marseille striker Loic Remy as their pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Radamel Falcao appears to have been put on the back-burner.
The 25 year old French international scored regularly in his first two seasons at the Stade Velodrome, netting 17 and 22 goals in his first two seasons respectively, but new boss Elie Baup hasn’t seen fit to hand the former Nice man a prominent place in his starting line-up, opting instead to trust to Andre Pierre-Gignac.
A move that has clearly not done Marseille any harm as they sit level pegging at the top of the Ligue 1 standings.
Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has doggedly stuck with Spaniard Fernando Torres this term and the former Liverpool man has had a decent season but the lack of effective alternatives may lead to the West London side bringing in a striker signing in January.
Remy would presumably jump at the chance of a move to the Champions League title holders.
