Youngster could be set for January move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are scouting Wolfsburg’s Swiss international left back Ricardo Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, 20, is under contract until 2015 but a few clubs are watching him and AC Milan have already made discreet enquiries.
Chelsea are blessed with left backs but with Ashley Cole out of contract this summer they are looking around as back up with Ryan Bertrand also making good progress.

It’s looking increasingly likely that Chelsea will need a new left-back in the foreseeable future, with England stalwart Ashley Cole’s contract situation showing no signs of being resolved.
Cole has reportedly been informed by the powers that be at Stamford Bridge that he will not be offered more than a one-year extension to remain in West London – part of Blues’ owner Roman Abramovich’s controversial over-30s policy – and the 31-year-old could depart as soon as January, with the likes of Real Madrid and PSG circling.
While the Blues boast England’s Ryan Bertrand as back-up, they will undoubtedly be looking for someone more worthy of playing in a title-challenging team and that man could be Wolfsburg’s Swiss international Ricardo Rodriguez.
The young defender only joined the Bunesliga outfit in January but has become a firm favourite of boss Felix Magath, starting every match since his debut against FC Koln at the back-end of last season.
The 20-year-old has started this season brightly and boasts attacking verve to compliment his defensive astuteness, making him the perfect replacement for Cole.
The Bundesliga has been a happy hunting ground for Chelsea in recent seasons, with the likes of Marko Marin arriving from Germany and Rodriguez could be the latest young star to join Roberto Di Matteo’s revolution at the Bridge.
