Anfield side make hopeful San Siro star bid.
Italian source CalcioMercato believe Liverpool are readying a January move in the region of €12m (£9.5m) for Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder.
Clearly the chances of landing the 28 year old for such a fee would appear to be slim to none as despite the fact that the former Real Madrid and Ajax man hasn’t been in the best of form over the past 18 months the Dutchman is still considered a hugely talented player who could well garner bids of at least double what Liverpool are said to be ready to offer.
Wesley Sneijder has found himself somewhat surplus to requirements in Andrea Stramaccioni’s first team set-up.
Sneijder has reportedly clashed over the Nerazzurri manager’s insistence that the midfielder is still recovering from a groin injury whilst the player himself has stated publicly that he is fully fit and ready for action.
Inter Milan have won their last seven Serie A matches on the trot, culminating in a victory in Turin that ended Juventus’s 49 match unbeaten run. This would appear to suggest that the Italian giants can live without Sneijder and may therefore leave the door open for a Man United bid.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers may well feel his midfield could do with some added creativity and perhaps the Dutch international would be tempted by a move to the Premier League but the Anfield side will have to battle Man United for the experienced attacking midfielder as Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be a long term admirer of the Inter Milan star.
