Emirates Stadium boss wants Bernabeu starlet.
Check-In to Arsenal v Tottenham
Spanish source El Confidencial claim that Arsenal are in hot pursuit of young Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata.
Arsene Wenger is obviously well known for his reputation of picking up young talents and turning them into household names and a move to bring in the 20 year old Spaniard would help beef up Arsenal’s threadbare attack and could do so in a cost effective fashion.
The Madrid born forward has spent the last three seasons scoring regularly for the club’s B team but came off the bench last night to score a late winner for Jose Mourinho’s side at Levante. This however does not mean the youngster is destined for a long run in the first team picture, not when experienced goal-scorers like Karim Benzema can’t be guaranteed a spot in the Portuguese boss’s starting eleven.
Perhaps a loan move to Arsenal could be something Mourinho would be open to, as he would presumably not like to send away a player with obvious potential.
Morata has scored 34 goals in 69 appearances for Real Madrid B and has scored an impressive 11 goals in 13 appearances for the Spanish under 19 international side.
Arsene Wenger now sees Lukas Podolski, Gervinho and Theo Walcott as seemingly exclusive wide attacking players, meaning the Gunners boss has to overly rely on Olivier Giroud, perhaps Morata would be brought in to beef up numbers?
