Emirates Stadium side desperate to win race to snap up Nou Camp attacker.
Arsenal are scrambling to land Barcelona starlet Cristian Tello.
Tello is out of contract at the end of this season, meaning that he is free to negotiate a free transfer to other clubs in January.
Although Barca are still keen on retaining the Spanish youth international, their offer of a new three-year deal remains unsigned.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, the stumbling block is a dispute over the buyout clause in the new contract.
Currently, Tello is allowed to talk to clubs if they offer Barca £8million.

Arsenal have of course seen a number of their talents move to the Nou Camp, with Cesc Fabregas and Alex Song being the latest stars to make the move from North London to join the Catalan giants, so perhaps Arsene Wenger is looking to buck that trend and try to bring in youngster Cristian Tello.
The 21 year year old has been entrenched in contract talks with Barcelona for months now and the La Liga side may well be losing patience with the Spanish Under 21 international.
The sticking point in talks is said to relate to any buy-out clause entered into Tello’s contract with the Catalan side wishing to sell such a trigger clause at a far higher sum than the player’s representatives.
On the playing front Tello can not complain about the manner in which new boss Tito Vilanova is using his services. The 21 year old has made 12 appearances in all competitions this season, albeit many coming from the bench, and has managed to net three times thus far.
The adaptable attacker could offer Wenger an alternative in the final third, which may well become more relevant if the Gunners choose to allow Theo Walcott and Andrei Arshavin to leave. Wenger must also factor in the loss of Gervinho for much of January and February as the Ivory Coast international is likely to be on international duty at the African Cup of Nations.
