Emirates Stadium side look to bring in quality addition from Anfield.
Arsenal are reportedly very interested in re-igniting their interest in Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina according to TransferMarketWeb.
Arsene Wenger may well feel the time is right to re-visit his interest in the Spanish keeper as he will have noted that the Liverpool keeper has struggled to retain his spot in Brendan Rodgers first team following time out with injury.
The 30 year old custodian last started a Liverpool fixture in early October and has been sidelined and on occasion bench bound since. This has led to speculation that Rodgers prefers Australian Brad Jones to Reina which in turn could lead to the former Real Madrid man considering an exit from the Merseyside club.
Arsene Wenger saw his first choice starer, Polish international Wojciech Szczesny, drop a clanger at home to Southampton prior to suffering an ankle injury and Vito Mannone hasn’t been all that comfortable between the sticks in recent matches and a move for Pepe Reina could be the answer to the lack of a solid consistent keeper behind the Gunners back-line.
For much of Reina’s eight seasons at Liverpool he has been considered, quite rightly, to be one of the most able keepers in the Premier League and should Rodgers really believe that he is no worthy of the starting spot then Arsenal would do well to pounce as one would imagine he isn’t happy about having to bide his time waiting for a way back into the Liverpool first team.
