Anfield marksman top of Turin side’s wish-list.
Italian source CalcioMercato claim that Serie A table toppers Juventus are to re-ignite their interest in Liverpool striker Luis Suarez. The Turin based side are in need of a prolific forward and have been linked with a myriad of potential additions but are once again strongly linked with the in-form Uruguayan international.
The 25 year old former Ajax man is Brendan Rodgers main, and perhaps only, effective goal-scoring weapon and as such is surely not a player the Merseyside club would entertain offers for.
However things could perhaps get complicated if the Liverpool striker were interested in a move to the Italian champions but currently Suarez looks happy at the club, despite their continued presence some way off the top four.
Though Juventus have conquered all before them over the past 18 months they have done so without a striker, as evidenced by the fact that last term Antonio Conte’s domestic top scorer, Alessandro Matri, only netted ten goals.
Despite the fact that Liverpool lie in 13th place Suarez is the Premier League’s joint top scorer with eight, tied with Man United forward Robin Van Persie, and therefore one can see why Juventus could feel they could tempt the striker with the offer of a genuine title challenge and the Champions League football he may not be likely to enjoy at his Anfield club.
