St James’ Park side keen on French international forward.
French source Le10Sport claim that Newcastle United are readying a move for Marseille forward Loic Remy and that Alan Pardew will look to sweeten the deal by offering Magpies midfielder Sylvain Marveaux as part of any deal.
The St James’ Park boss is apparently looking to soften the blow of a possible departure of in-form striker Demba Ba by looking to bring in the French international forward to the Premier League side, a deal that may have legs given that the former Nice man hasn’t been a regular in the Stade Velodrome side under new boss Elie Baup.
André-Pierre Gignac has received the lion’s share of first team duties this term despite the fact that Remy in both of his two seasons at the club.
This source believes Chelsea and Liverpool, who are both in need of attacking reinforcements, are also in the hunt for the 25 year old striker.
Sylvain Marveaux has struggled to claim a spot in Pardew’s first team picture, making just two Premier League starts for Newcastle United since his move from Rennes back in July 2011.
