Carrow Road side chase Emirates Stadium and Upton Park marksman.
Norwich manager Chris Hughton has put a new striker at the top of his January shopping list.
The Canaries boss is set for talks with chief executive David McNally over his budget ahead of the forthcoming transfer window.
And Hughton will plead with Norwich chiefs for enough January cash to purchase a proven Premier League striker.
Arsenal misfit Marouane Chamakh and West Ham’s Carlton Cole are early targets for Hughton.

Having scored just eight Premier League goals this season it seems sensible to consider options to beef up the Norwich City attack but Chris Hughton may struggle to land either of these targets.
Whilst Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh has been in woeful form and hasn’t played a single minute of Premier League football one does wonder if the Canaries would meet his presumably high wage demands and the Moroccan may prefer a move back to Ligue 1 over a move to the Premier League strugglers.
Similarly Carlton Cole may not be all that keen on leaving West Ham.
The former Chelsea man may not have been in good form but he has taken part in nine of the club’s eleven Premier League fixtures and with Sam Allardyce’s side riding high in the top six and Andy Carroll only being at the club on a loan spell the 29 year old could well be keen to remain at the East London side he has represented since July 2006.
