Duo chasing in-form striker.
Liverpool and Arsenal are tracking Portuguese striker Eder, who is on fire for Sporting Clube de Braga this season, reports fanatix.
The 24 year-old, who is 6’2”, has scored six goals in seven Primeira Liga appearances for Braga and has recently broken into the Portuguese national squad.
Eder now has four caps to his name – all as a substitute – and his form in front of goal could lead to Portugal finally uncovering a focal point to their attack.
That is something that Liverpool in particular could do with too.
Luis Suarez has been in magnificent form this season, but it is worth bearing in mind that many of his 111 goals in 159 appearances for Ajax came from a position on the right of a front three – with the central strikers including Klaas-Jan Huntelaar before he was sold to Real Madrid, and Mounir El Hamdaoui.
There is therefore an argument that moving Suarez to the right of the attack would not disrupt the Uruguayan or Liverpool, and Eder could make a difference to Liverpool’s play.
A quicker player than Andy Carroll, and arguably better off the ball too, Liverpool’s attack would remain mobile whilst retaining their goal threat.
Arsenal are looking to offload Marouane Chamakh and sign another striker in his place though, and could move for Eder in the summer.
