Roberto Di Matteo leaves Chelsea after Champions League defeat
Manager Roberto Di Matteo has parted company with Chelsea, the club has announced.
Di Matteo won the Champions League and FA Cup as caretaker manager last season and was given a two-year deal in June.
But in the wake of the 3-0 defeat to Juventus, which has left the Blues on the brink of a Champions League exit, he has left Stamford Bridge.
“The club will be making an announcement shortly regarding a new first team manager,” a statement said.

It seems the Italian has bitten the bullet and has lost his job at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat at Juventus left the West London side struggling to book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League, just months after the Blues won the competition in Munich.
As yet words like ‘sacked’ or ‘resigned’ have not been used and it seems ‘parted company’ is a catch-all term that perhaps leaves many asking questions.
Who do Chelsea fans want to replace Di Matteo?
