Internacional striker could make Premier League switch.
Tottenham target Leandro Damiao’s dream is to play for Chelsea, alongside former teammate Oscar.
The 23-year-old Internacional striker told website Elastico: “Oscar is a fantastic player. I had an excellent relationship with him on the field at Internacional and it is true that I would like to be reunited with him. We still play together when fielded for Brazil.”
Damiao also admitted the prospect of playing in England is a ‘great attraction’.
“The Premier League holds great attraction, of course. I was in England for quite some time during the Olympics and it is a great country with good people,” the £25m-rated forward added.
However, Damiao insisted that he is happy at Inter for the time being.
“I have a contract until 2015 with Internacional and for the moment, despite all the rumours, I am staying where I am and that is in Porte Alegre. Regardless of the fact that the team will not play the Copa Libertadoresnext year, I maintain my focus here.”
Chelsea’s strikers Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge have failed to impress this season and it is thought the Blues will enter the transfer market for a forward in January. If the team’s new manager, Rafa Benitez, cannot bring the best out of misfiring forward Torres before the New Year, then several strikers including Radamel Falcao, Edinson Cavani and Damiao are reportedly options for the mega-rich West Londoners.
