Etihad Stadium side target Bernabeu midfielder.
According to Italian source CalcioMercato Man City are tracking Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil ahead of a potential bid for the German international.
There is perhaps an argument for the need to bring in more creative talent to Roberto Mancini’s squad as the likes of Samir Nasri and David Silva haven’t had the best of seasons thus far, though the Spanish international did put in an excellent display against Real Madrid earlier this week.
However it does seem unlikely that Jose Mourinho would consider selling Ozil, who has been in impressive form over the past 18 months. There was some speculation about the former Werder Bremen star’s future earlier in the campaign but that talk appears to have died down in recent months.
The 24 year old is into his third season at the Bernabeu and has been a veritable assist making machine and is a player who Man City may well struggle to land if they do indeed make an offer for his services.
