Emirates Stadium side look set to snap up hotshot who simply can not stop scoring.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has set his sights on a cut price £6million January transfer to Arsenal.
The Holland striker would love to play at the Emirates, but feared that would never happen as long as Robin van Persie was there.
Huntelaar and Van Persie are big rivals in the Dutch national team and have had a volatile relationship behind the scenes.
But with Van Persie having left Arsenal and Huntelaar’s contract at Schalke expiring at the end of the season, the door is now open for the man who was the Bundesliga’s top-scorer with 29 goals last season.
Schalke have confirmed that scouts from Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton, have attended their last few games.

Well if Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is keen on an Emirates Stadium move and Arsenal are willing to fork out £6m for a player who could leave Schalke on a free transfer in the summer, then it would appear that a move to North London may well be on the cards for the 29 year old.
Though a great deal older than an average Arsene Wenger purchase the experienced forward is the type of in-form forward would could well help push Arsenal onwards and upwards to make the most of could well be a make or break season for the Gunners boss.
Having gone seven years without any silverware it seems fair to suggest that another failure could lead to very real pressure being placed on the Arsenal boss, who has been told he will have funds to spend in the January transfer window.
Though Olivier Giroud appears to be improving on a game by game basis it’s clear that Arsenal still lack alternatives up front and the Frenchman’s inability to break down a stubborn Aston Villa back-line further displays the need for other options in the final third.
Huntelaar has seen his career resurrected in the Bundesliga after poor spells at Real Madrid and Ajax and the Dutch forward’s record of 70 goals in 97 Schalke appearances speaks for itself.
