Emirates Stadium side keen on unhappy forward who could be ideal January purchase.
Nikica Jelavic could demand to leave Goodison Park in January after a blazing row with new-boy Kevin Mirallas, fanatix has learnt.
The Croatian striker, who has been prolific since joining the Toffees in January, reportedly accused Belgian winger Mirallas of being selfish after last month’s Merseyside derby with Liverpool.
It is understood the pair are no longer on speaking terms and Jelavic is ready to ask for a transfer in January, with Arsenal tracking the 27-year-old.
It was the second time Jelavic had labelled the accusation at Mirallas and the pair’s relationship has now completely broken down.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had been tentatively linked with the prolific Croatian international before he moved from Ibrox to Everton and is perhaps in even greater need of attacking options than he was in January having lost a number of attacking options since.
Robin Van Persie and Carlos Vela have been sold and ineffective pair Nicklas Bendtner and Park Chu-Young are out on loan and not likely to return. This has left Wenger having to rely on new signing Olivier Giroud for goals and though the French forward has started to deliver there is certainly a need for alternatives, as evidenced by the Gunners drab draw at Villa Park.
Jelavic has been a huge success since his move South of the Border, netting 16 goals in 25 starts for Everton since his £5.5m move from Rangers and that sort of return will surely leave the 27 year old in high demand if he does indeed look to leave the Merseyside club after clashing with new signing Kevin Mirallas.
