New Loftus Road boss keen on White Hart Lane raid.
New QPR boss Harry Redknapp has made a loan deal for Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker his priority, writes the Sunday People.
The Rangers boss has already identified that his new side lack leadership on the pitch and Parker – his captain during his reign as Tottenham boss – is seen as the ideal player to beef up the dressing room with some bulldog spirit.
It’s believed Parker isn’t in the long-term plans of Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas who wants to reduce the age profile of his squad. Parker is on £70,000 a week and chairman Daniel Levy is keen to get him off the wage bill if he isn’t going to figure in AVB’s line-up.
That leaves the way clear for Redknapp to make a bid for his former skipper although a loan deal might be the more viable option for QPR while their future remains uncertain.
Redknapp could make a triple raid on White Hart Lane with striker Jermain Defoe and defender Michael Dawson also on his wish-list.

It is indeed wise for Harry Redknapp to look to make significant changes at Loftus Road, despite the fact that Mark Hughes brought in the best part of an entirely new XI over the summer, and there’s no surprise that the former Tottenham boss would consider raiding White Hart Lane in January but will the North London club be accommodating enough to allow this trio to make the short trip across the capital?
QPR could do with an effective defensive midfielder as the likes of Stephane M’bia and Samba Diakite have not prospered this term. Scott Parker is currently recovering from surgery on an Achilles tendon injury and hasn’t played at all since the Euro 2012 finals. Andre Villas-Boas may not see the England veteran as part of his plans so the 32 year old could be a realistic target.
The same could be said of Michael Dawson, who only received his first Premier League start of the season on the weekend against West Ham and was previously a QPR target during Mark Hughes’s reign.
Less likely is however a move to bring in Jermain Defoe. The England man has been Tottenham’s most consistent attacker this term and is the club’s topscorer with 10 goals from 16 starts in all competitions and despite the fact that the pint sized forward has followed Redknapp to many of the club’s he has managed it seems unlikely that a move to Loftus Road is on the cards in January.
