White Hart Lane exit on the cards?
Gareth Bale rocks Spurs: I’ll seriously consider foreign offers
Gareth Bale has dropped his biggest hint yet that he’s willing to walk out on Tottenham at the end of the season should an offer come in from Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas conceded last week that every player has his price, and although he insisted he does not want to lose Bale, it seems the 23-year-old may soon be pushing him to make a deal.
‘It would be nice to experience other leagues and other cultures,’ Bale said, after Tottenham’s 3-0 win at Fulham.
‘I’m not afraid to go abroad. If the time comes and a team that’s right comes in for me, then I’ll look at it seriously. I’ll see what happens.’
Be afraid Tottenham fans, be very afraid.
There has been speculation that Gareth Bale would leave Tottenham for a move to either Spanish giant Barcelona or Real Madrid for the best part of 18 months but this quote from the Welsh winger is the clearest indication yet that such a move is more than just a mindless rumour.
The White Hart Lane wide-man has hit a rich vein of form over the past month and this has served to further strengthen links to a probable North London exit for the former Southampton man.
Even though Bale only signed a four year contract in the summer there is every chance that if a good offer is made then the talented wide-man may well look to force his way into a La Liga switch.
Andre Villas-Boas has started his tenure at Tottenham well and three wins on the bounce helped to extinguish the pain of a 5-2 North London derby defeat but even though Spurs sit in the coveted top four, and are some five points clear of local rivals Arsenal, there is every chance that they could lose their prized asset, much as they did when Jose Mourinho came calling for Luka Modric.
